Introducing the world’s smallest AIS MOB device with integrated DSC – the rescueME MOB1 from Ocean Signal. The MOB1 is compatible with even the most compact inflatable life-jackets.

The MOB1 is intended to be installed within the life-jacket and will activate automatically on inflation, sending the first alert within 15 seconds. The MOB1 is waterpoof to 10 metres.

The integrated strobe light ensures maximum visibility in low light conditions.

The MOB1 communicates with the vessel you have been separated from and other vessels in the vicinity (up to 5 miles range dependent on conditions). To alert rescue authorities, an alternative product the rescueME PLB1 communicates directly via a dedicated search and rescue satellite network.

In an emergency rescueME MOB1 provides 2 methods of rapidly communicating your position, accurate to a few metres, back to the vessel, plus providing visual indication via its built in strobe light.

The best chance of rapid rescue if you fall overboard comes from your own vessel. Your crew needs to be immediately aware of the incident and keep track of your position whilst recovery is carried out. Even in the most moderate of seas it is alarming how quickly a visual sighting of a man overboard can be lost.

Once activated your MOB1 will transmit an alert to all AIS receivers and AIS enabled plotters in the vicinity. The integrated GPS ensures precise location is sent to your vessel and any others that may be assisting.

An additional feature of the MOB1, is its ability to activate the DSC alarm on your vessels VHF, alerting your crew to the situation.

Compatibility: Most modern AIS plotters and DSC VHF comply with the standards required to receive MOB transmissions. It is however, especially if you are using older equipment, recommended that you check compatibility with the equipment manufacturer. See the FAQs below for more information.

The MOB1 may be configured by the user to enter the vessels DSC MMSI number* by downloading the software at the link below. The vessel’s DSC number may be programmed multiple times.

ATB1

ATB1 Class B AIS Transceiver

Stay safe – see and be seen with Ocean Signal’s ATB1

  • Increased visibility to other vessels (SOTDMA)
  • FREE user-friendly mobile app for set up
  • WiFi, USB, NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000®
  • Simple to install and use
  • Superior internal 99 channel GPS receiver
  • Supplied with external mount GPS antenna

The ATB1 needs to be configured by the user to enter the vessels MMSI number and other details.
This can be carried out by a mobile App or a web based program:

  • For the Mobile Android version search the Playstore for Ocean Signal
  • For the Mobile iOS version search the Appstore for Ocean Signal

The Ocean Signal ATB1 Class B AIS Transceiver incorporating the superior SOTDMA access scheme provides increased visibility and safety at sea.

The fully compliant ATB1 Class B SOTDMA AIS Transceiver from Ocean Signal is the latest in a long line of essential sea-safety equipment developed and manufactured in the UK for the Maritime market.

Designed as an aid to collision-avoidance, it provides a significant advantage in navigational safety giving you the peace of mind that your vessel will be seen day or night, no matter the weather, on today’s busy waterways.

Your vessel information such as position, speed, course and heading is ascertained automatically and continuously using the impressive internal multi-GPS receiver for accurate global positioning. Boasting 99 acquisition channels and 33 tracking channels, this advanced technology ensures that the AIS transmissions provide the most accurate indication of your vessel’s position at all times.

Other vessel information such as vessel name, call sign, type and dimensions as well as the MMSI are also transmitted automatically from the ATB1. This information is uploaded to the ATB1 via WiFi directly from Ocean Signal’s user-friendly mobile app or website. Once this information has been uploaded, it remains stored in the unit’s nonvolatile memory even if powered down for long periods of time.

The ATB1 also receives and interprets AIS messages from other AIS equipped vessels within range, which can then be relayed effortlessly to other navigation devices such as chart plotters, laptops or mobiles using the ATB1’s NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000®, USB or WiFi outputs.

Using the superior SOTDMA* access scheme sets the ATB1 apart from the CSTDMA** class B products available. This Ocean Signal Class B unit has the same AIS transmission priority as a class A unit, giving the added assurance that there will be no loss or delay of transmission, even in high traffic areas.

The ATB1 also has a faster reporting rate and higher output power than CSTDMA class B units.  It sends AIS transmissions every 5 seconds instead of the maximum two transmissions per minute and the 5W output power instead of 2W allows your transmissions to reach further.

A multi-colour LED indicator light on the ATB1 signals the on-going operational status of the unit. This additional safety feature provides you the confidence of knowing that the ATB1 has continuous AIS transmission and optimal performance. The ATB1 has a sleek yet rugged waterproof design that is high on performance and low on energy consumption.

It is quick and simple to install and comes complete with an external GPS antenna, meaning that all you need is the use of a suitable device (mobile phone, tablet or PC) to upload your vessel information, and you can begin transmitting your AIS messages within minutes.

A leader in life-saving maritime products for the professional and leisure markets, Ocean Signal yet again provides the ultimate in safety and peace of mind with the ATB1 Class B Transceiver.

The new Ocean Signal ATB1 AIS package unites the latest in AIS Class B+ technology in the ATB1 transponder with two award-winning rescueME MOB1 man overboard beacons to ensure the best chance of rapid rescue from either the survivor’s own vessel or other vessels in the vicinity if someone falls into the water, the AIS kit brings onboard safety to a new level.

Easily integrated within a life jacket, the compact MOB1 communicates with the ATB1, as well as AIS equipped boats within about a five-mile range, and will provide two methods of rapidly relaying the man overboard’s position in an emergency. Firstly, it transmits an alert to all AIS receivers and AIS-enabled plotters in the vicinity. Secondly, the MOB1 will activate the DSC alarm on the vessel’s VHF radio to alert fellow crew members. With crew able to track the person’s position while recovery is carried out, the integrated strobe light with moulded lens then ensures the survivor is easily spotted in poor light conditions.

Ocean Signal’s advanced Class B SOTDMA ATB1 AIS transponder is designed to offer boat owners increased visibility and navigational safety. Incorporating the superior SOTDMA technology, the ATB1 offers significant benefits including increased priority for position reports with no loss or delay of transmission, enhancing the user’s ability to be seen by other vessels in busy waters and avoid collision day or night whatever the conditions. It has a faster reporting rate and higher output power than standard CSTDMA Class B units, sending AIS transmissions every five seconds instead of the CSTDMA two transmissions per minute. The unit’s 5W output power, compared to the standard 2W, allows the transmissions to reach further.
