Single Channel Fibre Optic Rotary Joints (FORJs) are a means to pass signals across rotating interfaces, particularly when transmitting large amounts of data.
Based on multi-mode fiber, Cobham’s Single Channel Fibre Optic Rotary Joints (FORJ’s) have been designed for industrial and military applications. They are passive and bidirectional, and allow the transfer of optical signals across rotational interfaces.
FORJ enables high reliablity for data transmission above Gbit/s (Ethernet 1000 base T, fast multiplexed signals..). Our compact design meets high optical and mechanical performances. Tested and qualified for harsh industrial environment, our FORJ is suitable for applications such as wind turbines, robotics, HD video devices, radars (weather or military), opto-electical devices. Design can be customized acording to requested wavelength and connectors. Also, Cobham can offer a multiplexing system to convert several copper ethernet ways to one optical fiber output.
