Embedded Vacuum Slip Ring

Embedded Vacuum Slip Rings can be used for multiple space applications such as SADM, APM, motion control, optical telescopes.

Solar Array Drive Mechanisms enable solar pannels of the sattelite platform to get aligned with the sun in order to provide an efficient power transfer to equipement and payload. SADM usually embedd a slip ring to allow full continuous rotation. Instruments into the payload can also embedd slip rings for pointing, motion control or centrifugal equipement.

Cobham supplies Vacuum slip rings using special material, thermal treatments and manufacturing processes in clean rooms in order to avoid outgassing on potential surrounding optics whilst operating safely for years of service operation without maintenance. Special care is taken to electrical insulation and overhall embedded weight.
