Conning
26-inch LCD
Graphical or numerical sensor data
Switch between H-up and N-up
Data source and data unit selection
Description
The conning function on the MFD is a giant leap forward. As there are so many things that can be shown, the key ways to optimize how information is presented is in a simple and easy to understand format. Every little detail has been carefully considered. In general we have three basic tabs which are categorized as voyage, docking and custom, and on every tab the most appropriate information is presented for the officer. For example, the voyage tab has a 3D highway mode, showing own vessel with waypoint information as well as other pertinent voyage related data, while the docking mode shows more precise information in a more task-specific way. Besides these two pre-set tabs, we provide the officers the ability to set their own custom tab.
Minimum requirement for conning is a trackball and a Central Control Unit (CCU). Depending on the number of MFD’s onboard you are able to get information through the network. By adding a junction box with one or two Serial to LAN convertors (SLC), this setup will provide you with sufficient interfacing power to suit your needs. All the information presented on the conning display is built up in blocks. On the user tabs, the blocks can be positioned at the officer’s choice. For example, if you have an aft facing bridge the 2D picture of the vessel can be rotated 180° to match your operating manoeuvers as you are looking aft.

ECDIS simplified
Integrating route editing and route safety checking
Selectable screen size 26-inch (WUXGA)
220 to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz
Conforming to the latest IMO performance standards
Description
The Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) is a geographic information system for voyage planning and route monitoring to support the safety navigation of ships at sea. And in response to the latest revision of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), the International Maritime Organization (IMO) enforced the mandatory installation of the ECDIS by July 2018 according to vessel’s category. (Requirements for the equipment and operation qualification are subject to approval from the country with which the ship is registered and recommendations from the classification society of the ship.)
JRC’s new ECDIS model JAN-7201S/9201S has integrated route editing, which was conventionally divided into two segments, i.e., graphics input and numeric table input areas, into one. Waypoints, if specified, on a navigational chart are immediately quantified and added to the numeric editing table, and the numeric data on the waypoints that is input into the editing table is immediately reflected on the navigational chart. Up to four routes can be edited at the same time, and a portion cut out of any route can be combined and the routes can be all or partly replaced or edited. Furthermore, a safety check on edited route data is possible with a click of a button. Detected error information items, if any, are listed and displayed, and the corresponding route portions are highlighted in the chart and table, which can be confirmed at a glance to take remedial measures.
The JAN-7201S/9201S incorporates a new user interface (named jGUI) for an intuitive, easy-to-use, simple menu system based on the display of icons. This interface always displays critical data in fixed positions on the screen while icon-based menu display informs users of corresponding functions straightaway. Furthermore, target tracking (TT) and AIS symbols feature pop-up displays while mouseover on the target showing their main data at a glance.

Also industry standards such as dynamic licensing, PAYS, AIO are available and during route planning and/or while on voyage, weather, tides and piracy information can be seamlessly downloaded through the various services of the chart suppliers.
Route planning has been completely rebuilt for our new MFD system. The advanced nature of JRC’s new ECDIS system allows you to plan a route in different ways with extensive flexibility. First thing you notice when you start planning your route is the new menu bar which allows you to do basically anything. You can use the table or graphic editor or use both at the same time. When you graphically draw your next waypoint it is automatically added to the table editor. And vice versa. Open, edit, save new and existing routes can be done with ease. Up to four routes can be opened at the same time. You can select and move the entire route on screen and even combine routes, and easily exchange the alternative route with the route in progress. Also from the bar you can easily split the chart between single, left-right, top-bottom or as floating view which can be scaled at own convenience. Dedicated buttons allow you to single click to view waypoints as you prefer. Either zoom in on the display with waypoint centered, or display waypoint to waypoint or display the entire route. You can move, insert, add and delete waypoint and divide a leg.
The MFD provides a rich suite of objects, which you single-handedly can enter, move, insert and add on user maps. Up to 500 maps can be saved. The user map is linked to the chart, and even if there are multiple user maps, you can easily select or merge. The objects consist of mariners marks, symbols, lines, areas and texts. From buoys to buildings and harbors to seabed signals, JRC’s new ECDIS has 65 categories which includes close to 450 graphics instantly available for endless possibilities. User maps will be compatible from previous generation ECDIS to the new MFD. On the new MFD we have significantly increased the library of drawing tools, which prevents user maps on the MFD being exported to previous generation models.

JLN-740
Speed Log
Highly accurate speed and distance log
5-inch color touch display
Proprietary bubble detection
10.8VDC to 31.2VDC
Description
The JLN-741A series is a single axis water SDME compliant with the IMO MSC.96 (72) standard, required on all internationally voyaging ships exceeding 300 GT. Boasting never-before-seen accuracy for speed measurement, the JLN-740 is also installed with our company’s proprietary bubble detection function, which informs you when measurement accuracy is impaired due to air bubble contact.
The JLN-741A series utilizes digital signal processing, which, coupled with optimizations to existing speed measurement waveforms and the reliability of ship bottom mounting, has resulted in water speed measurement with accuracy up to 0.03kn or 0.3% in all models (measured at fixed speeds). That accuracy of information allows for highly fuel-efficient speeds, which means faster voyages with less waste. Along with improved speed measurements, the series also has greatly improved ship speed tracking, relaying all the information you need for precise navigation during berthing.
A long-unsolvable problem with doppler-based water speed measuring systems was reduced accuracy from bubbles making contact with the measuring device on the bottom of the vessel. The JLN-741N series detects when bubbles contact the transducer, and using roprietary technology from JRC alerts you of reduced measuring accuracy via the display. Confirming the source of the issue typically requires visually examining the device on the bottom of the ship. However, onboard air bubble detection allows you to skip unnecessary preventive maintenance.

Description
The JAN-9201 ECDIS model comes standard with a pre-loaded range of official, global ENC’s and is ready for all well known chart suppliers. Having direct access to the portfolio of ENCs makes it far easier to obtain the data required for passage planning.

Description
The JAN-7201 ECDIS model comes standard with a pre-loaded range of official, global ENC’s and is ready for all well known chart suppliers. Having direct access to the portfolio of ENCs makes it far easier to obtain the data required for passage planning.

AlphaCourse B
Bearing repeater compass
Fully MED approved
Analog display
Junction box is made built-in
Azimuth circle
Description
The Alphacourse B is a Bearing Repeater type for the Alphaminicourse gyro compass from the Alphaline Series. The repeater has an analogue display for the indication of the heading display provided from the gyro compass. The display is divided into a 360 deg/round outer scale and a 10deg/round inner scale. It’s a Bearing Repeater MED type approved system, connectable to a NMEA serial signal via junction box MKN015. The Alphacourse B is Wheelmark approved.
This junction box is made built-in with the drive circuit of the compass motor. With this we succeeded in minimizing the radiated interference (EMI) which may cause malfunction to surrounding equipment. The Azimuth circle measures the fixed error of the gyrocompass. To observe a bearing, the observer looks through the peep vane toward the object to be observed or “shot”. The ring is then rotated until the object appears beyond the vertical wire of the opposite “far” vane.

JAN-470
Electronic chart table
Handwrite on electronic charts
Simple route planning with intuitive user interface
Weather/meteorological info overlay/routing
Share routes/usermaps including handwriting with ECDIS
Description
JRC, a world leading electronics producer specialized in marine product and solutions, has developed a platform to support the digitalization process onboard ships. Cloud function and application services developed by JRC opens a new era of navigational information management, providing more efficient and safer operation.
The Navigational electronic Conning Station Table (NeCST) combined with our proprietary J-Marine Cloud will significantly enhance the operational tasks of officers onboard and provides a total solution for safe and secure smart navigation management. With our cloud services, it enables officers to share navigation information, such as assured routes and unavailable information on charts as well as and port information (photos, notes, etc) between ships and ships and ships and offices. It also increases your level of safety onboard as you will be able to share information of your vessel with the office in real-time at emergency situations. Think of fire, hull damage and oil spill by collision, piracy, grounding and injuries.
Create routes on the same paper chart scale you are used to, but now fully digital on a 46-inch touch display using your fingertips. Interaction with the large display is just as on your mobile phone, clicking, pinching, dragging and even remarks can be added to the chart by handwriting. Routes can be created with usermaps, but also with a stylus pen or divider. The ultimate form of simple route planning.
Today using weather information at routeplanning stage is often a manual and devious process. With the NeCST you have directly weather and meteorological info at hand to easily create the most optimized route, ensuring safety of vessel and crew and enabling more economical (fuel save) navigation. During the voyage you can easily add or remove waypoint and directly transfer to the ECDIS. We are even working on the possibility to plan a route from shore which will be accessible from J-Marine Cloud onboard.
With the NeCST available for navigation, captain and officers can dramatically improve bridge operation by managing tasks more efficiently. With just a few finger touches you can add dedicated (or custom) stickers on the chart. This “template” function is based on navigational routine work such as approaching or leaving the harbor.
